Winter

Winter is one of the four temperate seasons, characterized by the coldest temperatures of the year. It typically follows autumn and precedes spring. In the Northern Hemisphere, winter spans from approximately December 21 to March 20, while in the Southern Hemisphere, it occurs from around June 21 to September 22. Winter is marked by decreased daylight and often by the presence of snow and ice, especially in temperate and polar regions. The season significantly influences weather patterns, ecosystems, and human activities, prompting adaptations in both nature and society, such as winter sports and seasonal festivities. While associated with cold and dormancy in the natural world, winter also serves as a time of reflection and celebration in many cultures.
